Mark Wrangles - Education Consultant

Meet Mark Wrangles, founder of Close the Gaps and a specialist in Alternative Provision (AP). Mark has over 20 years experience in mainstream and AP leadership in high‑deprivation communities, including on the national leadership team of 11 AP schools.
Through Close the Gaps, Mark and his team help AP providers, MATs, schools and children’s charities to design, open and improve high‑quality AP; strengthen safeguarding; and embed best practice - from tendering and start‑up through to sustainable improvement and Ofsted readiness. Our focus is practical, evidence‑informed support that changes trajectories for young people who struggle in mainstream education. 

Mark has been involved in setting up Align, a non-profit organisation bringing a voice to the unregistered AP sector and have been involved in DfE discussions around the recent voluntary standards for providers.
